ReFUND CO Introduces an Easy Way to Support REC's Mission

If you get a state income tax refund in 2020, you will have an opportunity to donate some or all of it to support our efforts to provide academic support to at-risk students in the Grand Valley.

You're in charge of where your donation goes.  It's as simple as 1-2-3:

1. Decide how much of your refund to donate.
2. Enter Riverside Educational Center and our registration number 20083004950 in the "Donate to a Colorado Nonprofit Fund" line on your state income tax return or tax software - or just give this info to your ta preparer when you share your tax documents.
3. Pat yourself on the back for impacting kids who need it most in our community!

As always, THANK YOU for supporting REC and our mission to help Grand Junction kids!

REC Champions
Setting sights on the future

At REC, we believe that the future of our community rests on the succes of our children.

For 14 years, REC has helped underserved kids move towards high school graduation with homework support, enrichment opportunities, and activities that foster social and emotional growth.

But what about after graduation?

Bring on the REC Champions - a group of caring adults, led by Kristen Lummis, who are taking our high school Juniors and Seniors under their wings to help them move on to "what's next".

Sometimes that means college, sometimes it means technical school, sometimes it means getting a job.

Having someone who can guide them through the necessary steps, help them meet the right people and then cheer them on makes a big difference to these kids.

Thank you to all our REC Champions for believing in our future!

NOW HIRING!
REC is looking for someone who is passionate about our mission to join our management team as our Development Director.

This is a full-time position that involves event planning, relationship building, grant writing and large donor outreach.

If you are interested in helping REC make an impact in the Grand Valley community, use the link below to see the job description and apply.

Looking for Kids of All Shapes and Sizes

Do you know someone who's student could use some extra support after school?

We have a few spots left for qualifying students at almost all of our nine Elementary, Middle and High School sites.

  • REC Students talk about the fun they have "learning new stuff" at REC.
  • Parents rave about the fact that their child finally likes going to school because they get to go to REC afterwards.
  • REC Staff love seeing their students grow socially and emotionally.

For more information on how to register a student in REC programming, call Susette at (970) 462-2901.

Thank you to all our REC Donors!

We are so grateful to all of you who support REC's mission!  Though grants play a role in what we're able to accomplish, the true strength of our program comes from the support of YOU, our Grand Valley (and beyond!) community.

Your support means:
  • more at-risk kids are getting academic support
  • more low-income youth are participating in activities they normally couldn't access
  • and more underserved families are finding support in navigating the challenges they face.

The fact that you care helps us show that we care.

Thank you for being part of the REC Family!
