Happy Valentine's Day!

REC students spread cheer this Valentine's Day by making over 500 Valentine's Day cards for a local nursing home. We love our community, and this was one small way to show it!

Staff Development Conference

In January, we held our annual staff development conference at REC HQ. This is an opportunity for staff to learn about behavior management, new techniques to keep students engaged, and other ways to support the youth we serve.

In the fall of 2023, REC closed on our permanent home!  Join us for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate this achievement and express our heartfelt thanks to the incredible donors who made it all possible!

Post Secondary Student Support

REC supports students who have transitioned from high school to a post-secondary institution (community colleges and university settings) by providing them with student support specialists. This year, Mary Spirio has worked with just over 20 REC students who are pursuing either a certificate, associate degree, and/or a bachelor degree.

Former REC student moves into the dorms in August 2023 with the help of his family

100% of the REC students in the post-secondary environment are first in their family to pursue their degrees. Research has suggested that supplying these students with a caring adult can lead to a higher rate of persistence.

In Mary’s role, she focuses on advocating for individual students and supporting them with a variety of needs, such as, accessing financial resources, referring students to mental health services, academic and career coaching, and having coffees just to catch up and listen to their successes and challenges.
